FLYSURFER has revolutionised the entry into kitesport with this unique self-inflatable closed-foil kite concept. The design team created a kite that is very intuitive to use, safe and an excellent tool for training in kiteschools. The VIRON3 allows beginners to develop their own experience in dealing with wind and water allowing them to progress faster.
The thick profile and lower aspect ratio of the wing decrease lift while the flattening of the leading edge reduces the lift/drag ratio. These design characteristics reduce acceleration within the power zone and keep the power level manageable. The VIRON3 relaunches from the water quickly and effortlessly. Our integrated B-Safe system depowers the kite in an emergency. Beginners benefit from these features as they prevent common problems when learning.

XLKITES THOUGHTS: FLYSURFER has nailed it. This is hands down the best kite for kid kiteboarders. Before these kites came out, it was challenging to teach a very light person or kid for two big reasons.
Reason 1 is that small kites are typically so fast and squirrely that they are difficult for the new rider. Their acceleration is so fast that they can be explosively powerful. But with the Viron, Flysurfer has 'tamed the beast' and made a very docile, slow moving kite that makes it easy for the kid.
Reason 2 is that no other kites are really made for kids. The main kiteboarding market is adult males. So even though the brands make kites in small sizes, they are not made for the light rider. They are made for the adult male kiteboarder for when the wind is very strong! So that 8 square meter inflatable kite that might SEEM like a good choice for a kid was actually made as a high wind kite for a much heavier rider. So when little Billy is trying to fly it in 12 miles per hour, it just doesn't stay in the sky. When you think it through, it makes perfect sense that the 8m kite built strong enough for a 200 pound guy to ride in 30mph wind and waves must be strong and will be heavy for its size. It will not work as a light wind kite for an 80 pound kid.
