Foil Drive Barnacle Cable Extender for Fusion

Adapts your Foil Drive MAX or SLIM aluminum integrated mast to the Fusion system.

Because the Fusion base unit is longer than the MAX and SLIM, the cable on aluminum integrated masts needs a little more length to reach the plug on the Fusion.  The Barnacle  provides the extra cable reach. 

This is not needed for most carbon integrated masts. Carbon masts have a taper at the mast base that allows for some slack in the cable, so its length can be adjusted to fit the FUSION base or the MAX and SLIM base.  

An aluminum integrated mast can be ordered with enough cable length to be a perfect fit for the FUSION.  But then, when installed on a MAX or SLIM, there would be significant slack in the cable.  So if you want to use an aluminum integrated mast on MAX/SLIM and FUSION, best to have the cable length correct for MAX/SLIM, then extend the cable length with the Barnacle when using it with the Fusion system.  

Planning to use an Aluminium Integrated Mast or NoLimitz Carbon Mast with your Fusion? You will require a Barnacle Cable Extender to allow for the increased length of the Fusion.

The motor plug position on the Fusion is slightly further away from the mast than the MAX and Slim meaning the cable plug does not reach naturally. To bridge this gap, the Barnacle plus into the electronics box plug, and extends the plug closer to the mast, allowing the mast plug to connect. 

Note: All Carbon Masts (Excluding NoLimitz), have extra cable inside the mast. See instructions to extend your cable. The Barnacle is not required.

The Barnacle is ONLY required for Aluminium masts and NoLimitz Carbon Masts

Using an external cable? Barnacles are not recommended for external cables. Purchasing a longer motor cable is cheaper. Ie. if you have a 20cm motor cable and want to maintain the length, order a 25cm cable, not a barnacle.
