Water trike training from FAA Flight Instructors. We will teach you the ways of the Cygnet amphibious trike on the water, then sign your FAA Form 8710-11 so you are ready to take your Proficiency Check.
When you already have experience with land trikes, you can quickly become proficient on the water. The FAA does not set a minimum number of hours required before a Sport Pilot Proficiency Check, so it is possible that you can become proficient in an hour or two or three. Much of the effort will just be getting used to the feel of a bigger heavier trike, because of the floats, Rotax 912 engine and bigger wing. Other than the different feel, there is not much different to flying from the water that you don’t already do flying from land. It’s more about getting used to the different look and feel of the water, but you don’t do anything different. Line up into the wind, push the bar forward, and apply power until you start to lift off. For landing, round out and flare same as you would touching down on land.
Includes log-book endorsements and helping you prepare your FAA Form 8710-11.
