Trouble-shooting:

I hear crackling sounds on my headset:

FOR 2 USERS

  1.  Disconnect the microphone of the other set
  2. If the noise stops, replace with new microphone
  3. If crackling noise goes away and you are able to communicate clearly, this is due to a damaged microphone.
  4. If noise is still present,  check the connector for signs of water or dampness and also for dielectric grease.
  5. Wash connector of the set and microphone with fresh water and shake or use compressed air if you have to remove water.  Let it dry completely in the hot sun or blow with hair dryer taking care not to melt the plastic. Do not try to use paper to push inside the connector as this may damage the socket or pin.
  6. Fill the connector with dielectric grease and gently rotate the connector while plugging them together.  Remove excess grease that are squeezed out after connecting the microphone.  If this still does not work, the set is likely faulty and needs to be repaired or replace.  If it is still under warranty, contact your dealer for replacement.

FOR 3 OR MORE USERS

  1.  Disconnect the microphone one set at a time
  2. If the noise stops for the set you disconnected the microphone, replace with new microphone
  3. If crackling noise goes away and you are able to communicate clearly, this is due to a damaged microphone.

** Follow steps 4-6 as above if noise still does not go away.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO ENSURE CONNECTORS ARE FILLED WITH DIELECTRIC GREASE WHENEVER THE SPEAKER OR MICROPHONE IS REPLACED.  REPLACEMENT PARTS COME PRE-FILLED WITH DIELECTRIC GREASE.

FOR CHARGING CONNECTOR, ENSURE YOU HAVE DIELECTRIC GREASE TO APPLY AS AND WHEN NEEDED SHOULD THEY BECOME THIN BY VISUAL CHECK EACH TIME YOU UNPLUG TO CHARGE.

Why is dielectric grease important for connectors?

Sea water and fresh water are conductive and can cause serious damage to connectors.

While our connectors are tested under static water pressure to IP67, forceful impacts which can result in sudden pressure changes can weaken their tightness.

Applying dielectric grease in connectors is a common practice for most electronic and electrical equipment that comes in contact with water.  It will greatly improve reliability and reduce expensive damage.

The AquaPro devices are shipped with dielectric grease applied on all connectors (Microphone, speaker and charging).  Users are strongly advised to ensure the charging connectors are regularly checked each time they are unplugged to charge to ensure they remain well greased to remain under warranty.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO ENSURE CONNECTORS ARE FILLED WITH DIELECTRIC GREASE WHENEVER THE SPEAKER OR MICROPHONE IS REPLACED.  REPLACEMENT PARTS ALWAYS COME PRE-FILLED WITH DIELECTRIC GREASE.

FOR CHARGING CONNECTOR, DO ENSURE YOU HAVE DIELECTRIC GREASE TO APPLY AS AND WHEN NEEDED SHOULD THEY BECOME THIN BY VISUAL CHECK AFTER UNPLUGGING TO CHARGE SEVERAL TIMES.  THIS CAN BE ANY WHERE BETWEEN 3-5 TIMES.

Difficulty in Grouping sets

Problem :  Pressing the "G" button to Group radios does not group sets even when both sets are flashing RED and BLUE rapidly.

Solution : After resetting radios (Power OFF the sets by holding power button until you see a RED flash followed by 2 RED flashed.  Charge the radio briefly for 5 secs.

What you should see :  With both radios in Grouping mode (RED and BLUE flashing rapidly), press "G" button and the radio will announce "Intercom Searching" and its RED and BLUE lamps starts to flash slowly.

Why is my radio powering OFF upon connecting intercom

The set that is shutting down is faulty.

Please contact your dealer for warranty or repair support.

My radio is not working after replacing the microphone or speaker

Check connection as there is a possibility of wrong connection, eg wrongly unplugging your speaker to connect with the replacement microphone or vice versa.

If the connections are confirmed correct, the set is likely faulty.  Please contact your dealer for warranty or repair support.

How can I extend the range of AquaPro?

If you are within the range of your mobile phone service, you can easily configure the AquaPro to work with an almost unlimited range under the following conditions :

  1. You need to carry your mobile phone in a waterproof pouch which can be easily done using good quality disposable ziplock bags. We reccommend 2 bags if it is a single lock bag.  For double lock (2 zips), a single bag should suffice depending on your comfort level.
  2. You will need to use a handsfree voice conferencing chat service (Free or Paid) with group calls like Discord, Mumble, Skype, Teams Speak3, WhatsApp, Ventrilo, Google Meet, SIgnal, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cleanfeed, Vivox, etc.  Find the one that best works for you.
  3. The next step is to pair your phone (every user needs to pair their AquaPro radio to their mobile phone) as follows :

          a. Clear AquaPro radio (Power ON then hold to Power OFF until you see 1 Red flash and then 2 Red flashes)

          b.  Power ON AquaPro radio (Red and Blue flashing rapidly), turn on phone bluetooth pairing.  Select Aqua Pro.

          c.  Activate your voice conferencing app to connect with each other.

Do note that latency or delays when you speak and hear each other is dependant on the App and mobile phone network.

With this set-up, you will enjoy unlimited communication range and with multiple users with the full benefits of AquaPro's waterproof system for simple, reliable, cystal clear handsfree communication.

My microphone keeps moving away when I fall into the water, what can I do?

The AquaPro design offers full flexibility to fix the microphone in position or be move away by choice.

For your requirement to keep it close to your mouth, simply get a small cable tie or a piece of string to loop around and secure the microphone boom to the bottom strap of the muff.
